Example: First Page of the Worship Aid:
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!”
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says” There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: “Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Last Page A of the Worship Aid:
An example of ‘A Note of Gratitude from the Children’
“Our Mother taught us to be of grateful heart and generous soul for all things. We are grateful for the constant outpouring of love and support which each of us has felt from the time we were born through Mom being handed-up to this very day. We will remember her instilling in us values, faith, teaching us our prayers, dignity in adversity, perseverance and beauty… not to forget, our Galveston and Colorado trips, plain cheerios, organizational skills, how to drive a standard and balance a checkbook! You are dear to us, we have been strengthened by you in these hours, and we believe that through Mom, you now have a guardian angel to be “at your side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.”

A Biographical Sketch of the Deceased.
Back Inside Cover Example:
STRONG WOMAN VERSUS A WOMAN OF STRENGTH
A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape,
But a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape.
A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything…but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.
A strong woman won’t let anyone get the best of her…but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone.
A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…a woman of strength realizes life’s mistakes can also be God’s blessings and capitalizes on them.
A strong woman walks sure footedly, but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls.
A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face, but a woman of strength wears grace.
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey, but a woman of strength has faith that it is the journey that will make her strong.

Born Anna Gertrude Hensgens, Gertrude Monlezun was the fifth of eight children born to Joseph Hensgens and Anna Reiners-Hensgens. She was born at Roberts Cove, Louisiana, a rural settlement of German farmers in Acadia Parish. This collection of many large families who were related by either blood or marriage provided many cousins and playmates for this hearty, fun loving young girl. Daily attention to hard work, family needs and religious training characterized life in these early years. Her first language was German in her home and Latin in her church parish, St. Leo's. A member of the church choir by age 9, she was exposed to parents, aunts, and uncles who were dedicated to their Catholic faith, and who by their example, led her and her generation to place high value upon service to their church. She received her formal education in the Roberts Cove two room school and St. Joseph's School in Rayne, Louisiana.
Young Miss Hensgens moved to Lake Arthur with her parents and siblings on January
2,1940. That year, she was introduced to a young local man named Lee Joseph Monlezun. The next year, that young man bought a large home at 327 Arthur Avenue. After Sunday Mass in March of 1941, he and his fiancé invited Mr. and Mrs. Hensgens to walk through the home where they intended to live as husband and wife. Upon inspection, Mr. Hensgens suggested that such a large home was big enough to rear ten children. Little did he expect nineteen years later, the tenth child would be brought into that same home. They married on August 13, 1941. Lee died in that home on July 31, 1985.
With the limited free time which the young Mrs. Monlezun had rearing her family, true to her early training, she dedicated herself to her beloved Our Lady of the Lake Church. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society before she ever married. Indeed, she had become a member even before leaving St. Leo's. When the Father Charles Kirk Court of the Catholic Daughters of America was formed in Lake Arthur, she was a charter member. Her membership in this organization existed in Roberts Cove and Lake Arthur until her death. She held most every office in the Court, including Grand Regent. She was also voted Mother of the Year in 1960 and Catholic Daughter of the Year in 1991. Her presence at St. Maria Goretti Catholic School was constant during the 23 consecutive years during which she had a child there. She was present whenever needed, from the classroom to cafeteria to chuck wagon. Later, she could be found in and around the Rectory and Church, serving as Eucharistic Minister, helping in Social Ministry, folding bulletins, collecting votive candle money, leading the rosary at wake services, and as always, singing with her beloved church choir. She also was a six year member of the Germanfest Singers of Roberts Cove and a 36 year member of the Lake Charles Messiah Chorus. Her concern for the sick was shown through her many years of membership in the Jennings American Legion Hospital "Pink Lady" organization.
Throughout her 44 years of marriage to her husband, Anna Gertrude Hensgens-Monlezun showed by her example, that dedication to her family and to her God can be lived in a simple and quiet manner. She exhibited that the ability to deal with personal tragedy can be achieved with dignity and courage. She was a living example that sacrifices gladly made for the sake of people one loves are rewarded a hundred fold, and that you do get to see the fruits of your labors before you die.

General Intercessions of the Prayers of the Faithful – Lord, hear our prayer…
+ In gratefulness to those of our Congregation who have gone before, whose light we follow and embrace, and to those who will come after us whose vocation will inspire, enable and fulfill all that we live for which is our vocation to Our Lady of Mount Carmel…we pray to the Lord.
+For the victims of the devastation wrought by The Catastrophic Storm of 2005 by the name Katrina throughout the Gulf Coast from east to west, north to south; may their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace…Amen…we pray to the Lord.
+For the ability to remain close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary as we Sisters ponder and receive the outpouring of love, compassion and support through the active caring that we have experienced and so appreciate…it is beyond words but not beyond our prayers of supplication and thanksgiving…we pray to the Lord.
+May the lost be found and may the found know that the God who created them in His image and likeness does not abandon His own. His hands and feet are in the relief of the people who have handed up to Him, in the distressing disguise of all the victims, who will find the basic necessities and their souls will find solace…we pray to the Lord.

PRAYER 2005
O God, we remember when the disciples of Jesus were terrified after a long night on a turbulent sea. When they cried to you for help, you stilled the sea and brought them to safety. We ask now that you comfort and still the hearts of those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. We pray for those who have been displaced and who now must return to homes destroyed or damaged by the storm. We pray for those whose lives were lost and for those who now must grieve the loss of a loved one. We pray for those who are attempting to offer help and relief to victims. While we wonder why such devastation can occur, where lives and property can seem held so capriciously in the hand of what is uncontrollable, we know, O God, that you count every hair on our head and that our names are written on the palm of your hand. Let your loving grace wash over those who must now face damaged lives, homes, and possessions. Hold them close to yourself until they are sure of the security of your loving embrace. Calm their hearts and still their souls, O Lord. We ask this for the sake of your love. AMEN. Author Unknown
MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, to you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Recessional- ‘Let There Be Peace On Earth!’
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father, brothers all are we. Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me let this be the moment now.
With ev’ry step I take, let this be my solemn vow: To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
